Colwyn & Aberconwy Snooker League

The League AGM and Acceptance meeting held on Wed 27th August at Colwyn Bay Cricket Club

Clubs represented: Colwyn Bay Cricket Club; Colwyn Bay Legion; Llandudno Victoria Club.

1. There is now a min. of 24 hrs notice needed to cancel any of the competition matches. All deadline dates are to be strictly adhered to, if necessary both players may be removed from the competition for defaulting, subject to attempts made to contact and arrange by one of the players.

2. All comps to be completed before presentation night. 

3. The Individuals and Pairs comps will have pre-set finals dates and venues. Venues will not be changed if a player reaches a final scheduled to be played at their own club.

4. Finals to be reduced to best of 5 for Ind's and best of 3 for Pairs.

5. Hcaps. To be assessed by Hcap committee of Haydn Philips; Tony Kearney and Tony Cannon prior to season starting. Hcaps will range from Scr to +40. New unknown players will start at +15 and be assessed/reviewed by hcap committee at any time up to their first 3 matches. There will be a mid season adjustment, with input from captains, before the Christmas break where any player who has played a minimum of 6 matches will be looked at for possible reassessment - any player from this who has a win rate of 75% or more will have their hcap reduced by 5 pts. Any player in the assessed category who has a win rate of 25% or less will have theirs increased by 5pts. The overall absolute maximum range hcaps will be is -5 and +40

6. So far there will be 6 teams in the league. There are no single-table venues. If there are 6 teams it's likely the format will be to play each other 4 times to make it a 20-week league season. If there's room then 2 weeks will be allocated for the first round of team cup games again. There will be a week set aside for the Venue Cymru Welsh Open tournament which will be run from 23rd Feb to 1st March.
